Our Story

If I'm "Fit," this lady right here is "Faithful." Holly is my best friend, my sister-in-law and one of the few people who I can communicate with by making eye contact and she ALWAYS knows what I'm thinking.

Laura's Version of the Story

Holly and I joke that it was BFF's at first sight. The first week of freshman year of college I met this cute curly haired girl with a big smile from down the hall. I wanted to attend a social and had no one to go with me, so I thought I'd ask her. She seemed friendly with her big smile. I knocked on the door, and honestly, the rest is history.

We spent hours that night talking on a bench outside under the stars. We hit it off right away. At that point, I transferred out for a semester, but we still spent lots of time together. The following year we (along with a few other awesome girls), became roomies. Eventually we graduated, the best of friends, and got teaching jobs as we were both teachers.

Fast forward a few years and Holly met the man of her dreams, Scotty, and got married. I was going through a very difficult time in life at that point with a recent broken engagement. Holly was (secretly) plotting with her husband to set me up with her brother in law (Scotty's brother), and when I found out, I specifically remember crying, with my head in her lap, and saying , "I will never date Joey Bisping, so don't even think about it." Well...God had other plans and I soon came to realize what she already knew, that "Joey Bisping" was the most amazing, Godly  man and truly the man of my dreams. A few months later, Holly and I became sister-in-laws.

Fast forward a few more years and now we are aunties to each other's children and we have sons 2 months apart that we like to dress up alike. I honestly couldn't have ever dreamed that all of this would have come about that day I knocked on her door, but I know, without a doubt, that our friendship was God ordained.

Holly has always been so in tuned with God and the Bible. I'm so excited she has agreed to be the "Spiritual Leader" in our challenge groups and on this blog. She has so much insight and a gift for communicating God's word.
